I stopped by the local library's book sale Thursday morning (and again today) and came away with some great bargains! Paperbacks were 50 cents, and hardbacks a dollar. I managed to come away with at least twenty books for roughly $30. And among them? Plenty of mysteries, of course.
I managed to pick up a few Dorothy Sayers, a P.D. James, some Ngaio Marsh, and (gasp!) some books that are NOT written by British women. I picked up a book from Emily Brightwell's "Mrs. Jeffries" series, and a few books from Laura Joh Rowland. (Yes, I HAVE noticed that I read a lot of mystery fiction by women. Why do you think this is "Murderess Ink"?
The next few posts (whenever I get around to them, since I've been quite busy of late) will cover more Agatha Christie novels (chronologically, of course!). The next entry should be interesting, because Christie's second novel features the detectives--make that sleuths--that I love to hate, Tommy and Tuppence. Thrown in will probably be a review of whichever of my new books I pick. Also, keep an eye out for a post on Clue (featuring a guest appearance by a fellow Blogger!) and a recap of one of my favorite classes ever.
Good sleuthing!

Love mysteries, and usually by female authors, too. So happy I found your blog. I'm going to have to re-read a few, and this is good, really good fun this winter!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think of Daniel Silva's action mysteries??? I particularly enjoy the Gaberial Allon series.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you on board, Kittie! I hope you'll enjoy the reviews to come. I haven't read any of Silva's work, but I'll be sure to place it on my list of material to read and review!
